Crushing equipment is important in many heavy industries. These are areas such as mining, metallurgy and construction.
First of all, their purpose is crushing and mechanical destruction of solid materials to the required size. Based on the size of the material to be crushed, crushing equipment is classified for coarse, medium and fine crushing. Such equipment, as a rule, is not rented, unlike renting a crane or backhoe loader with a dump truck. The design used and the specific purpose of crushing equipment determines the principle of its operation. These two parameters subdivide the crushers, which in their work use different methods of crushing: loosening, cutting, crushing, impact action with the help of chisels, impact action by the way the stones collide with each other, the impact with the help of baffle plates and hammers. There are roller crushers, cone crushers, jaw crushers and impact crushers.
Jaw crushers allow the primary processing of material, i.e. crushing. The advantage of jaw crushers is that they can work together with other types of crushing equipment, such as impact crushers or cone crushers. They are also used on their own, not in conjunction with other types of crushers. After all, the material fractions obtained after crushing have a finer and better shape for further processing. When the jaw crusher is equipped with a magnetic separator, it is used to process reinforced concrete waste that is generated during the construction of institutions and buildings.
Cone crushers are used for secondary and tertiary crushing of materials and rocks. The important fact is that they can be used for crushing rocks of any strength and abrasiveness. There are crushers of this type, which are equipped with metal detector, receiving rotary hopper and special system of operation in case of any failures. If it is necessary to crush non-abrasive rocks of medium strength, then, as a rule, rotary crushers are used. This type of equipment is used for secondary and primary crushing of the original rock or material. Due to the rapid wear of the crushing elements of impact crushers, they are rarely used for crushing hard rocks, due to their low efficiency. To process medium to soft rocks, roller crushers are used. Roller crushing is a secondary crushing process.
