Three modifications of Cat M300D series wheeled excavators are included in Caterpillar product catalogs. The new machines are distinguished from the analogs of C series by simplified process of maintenance procedures, as well as a higher level of comfort for the operator.
Most likely these machines can be rented and used with the order of a truck crane in Moscow. The main difference of M318D, M316D and M322D models from earlier modifications of excavators is the fully welded frame, which reduces the labor intensity of production without loss of strength compared to the frame assembled with the help of threaded and pinned joints, used earlier. The frame design now allows dozer blades to be mounted on both the rear and front of the machine. By using the blade as a support, it is not necessary in all cases to use outriggers on the side where the blade is not mounted.
It is also possible to stabilize machines using the outriggers alone, without mounting the blade. The blade design has become more rigid due to the fact that dozer blades are now used as stability elements on excavators. The shield that covers the hydraulic cylinder of the blade is now directly attached to the frame structure. Thanks to this solution, the likelihood of damage to the hydraulic cylinder has been significantly reduced. To simplify maintenance in the new layout of this unit, the lubrication point from the remote automatic lubrication system has been retained.
There are also notable changes in the cab's instrumentation. For example, the control display on these three models has been replaced by the display used on the 300E crawler excavators. The screen glow is 40% brighter. With the new monitor, you can control the rearview camera using touch buttons. If there is a need, it shows the picture from two more cameras, which are installed at the customer's request. The menu of the control system has become more convenient. On special order in the cabin can be installed a new Comfort seat, which is equipped with additional adjustments and climate control system.
This system involves the use of a protective layer of carbon fiber, located between the foam material of the cushion and the seat upholstery. This innovation keeps the seat dry, as moisture is not absorbed into the foam, thus increasing the comfort level of the excavator driver. In order to increase the reliability of the machines and simplify their maintenance, the cooling system hose routing scheme has been changed. Also, all new excavator models have special wiring so that the optional Cat Product Link proprietary telepathic system can be installed.
