Graders are pneumatic wheeled machines designed for earthmoving and transportation works. Such special construction equipment is used in civil, hydraulic, industrial and irrigation construction along with Liebherr crane rental and services.
Graders have the following design features. The moldboard is the working organ of these machines. As a rule, it is located between the rear and front wheels, in the middle part of the tractor. For its installation there is a special turntable, which is located on the traction frame. Classification of graders depends on the power of the power plant and the weight of the machine. Light - power up to fifty kilowatts, mass up to nine tons, medium - power up to seventy-five kilowatts and mass up to thirteen tons, heavy - power up to one hundred fifty kilowatts and mass up to nineteen tons, especially heavy - power over one hundred fifty kilowatts and mass over nineteen tons.
According to their constructional design, graders are three-axle and two-axle. With the help of graders plan and profile surfaces during the construction of embankments up to 60 centimeters high, clean and dig ditches and ditches of trapezoidal and triangular profiles, build troughs for road bases, level and mix soil, gravel, crushed stone and binding materials, as well as break road surfaces in the process of road repair, clear areas and roads from snow.
During the profiling of unpaved roads, graders remove soil from the side ditches and move it to the road axle with subsequent leveling and giving the profile the necessary cross slope. All of these tasks can be handled by a single grader, but when a team of four units is working, a much better result is achieved. Based on the size of the area to be processed, the terrain, the presence of various artificial structures, the movement of graders is either circular, or carried out on a shuttle technological scheme.
When grading operations are performed from 1 to 4 forward-backward gears, the operator removes the lock from the torque converter. This mode gives the grader wheels the most torque and protects the transmission and engine from overloading. If you shift up a gear, the torque converter locks up. During snow removal, gears 5-7 are engaged, and the 8th gear is the transport gear. The torque converter lockout is available for all gears, and there is an extremely precise pedal for each mode.
