The company Caterpillar has presented a new model of hydraulic excavator, called Cat 336E, and in the market it will replace the aging model of similar class 336D.
Such machines are used together with the rental of truck cranes in Moscow. The new excavator is equipped with a diesel engine Cat C9.3 ACERT, which has a power of 300 hp, or 236 kilowatts. Thanks to the power of the new engine, the machine meets the requirements of Tier 4 Interim standard in terms of exhaust cleanliness. The new model's engine is twelve percent more powerful than the same class of 336D excavator, and now the time to complete a typical operation has been reduced by four percent and specific fuel consumption by two percent.
The company has also worked to improve the working pressure in the hydraulic circuit of the attachment, and increased it by five percent in the “Heavy Load” mode, and thanks to these innovations, work with lifting elements of steel structures and large pipes will be easier.
The 336E is equipped with several devices that help to use fuel more economically. For example, the machine now has a regenerating electric valve that regenerates energy when the digging components are lowered. The system has a setting for the time the engine runs on low throttle before shutting down. Moreover, the system has an engine crankshaft speed control and is capable of operating according to an isochronous algorithm, thus ensuring an economical revolutions mode regardless of the loads on the working elements.
Without operator intervention, the particulate filter cleaning system is capable of automatic activation when the set pressure drop value is reached. This is allowed when the engine is operating at optimum performance. Model 336E excavator is equipped with the latest generation of CAT Next Generation buckets, which have a special improved geometry, thanks to which, the collection of content in the bucket is faster, and the distribution of forces on the various elements of penetration into the ground is more optimized.
